After traveling to New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Costa Rica over the past few weeks, my sense of season is a bit off. I can hardly believe we already have snow on the ground, and I already miss my nightly walks with Jeff through the neighborhoods by our place (though I suppose we now have the option of picking up a sled and heading to the hill behind our place).
Props to the fashionable Kat Cooper for hanging out with me on Michigan State’s beautiful campus in early November to capture the height of amazing colors.

Every now and then, Kat Cooper and I get together for a seasonal fashion shoot for her blog, Ginger and the Geek. It’s a fun chance for me to play with new styles. This time around, I really wanted to play with color—I’ve been shooting in this beautiful little green space behind my condo lately, and I love the way the light comes through the leaves as the sun is setting behind it. I really like the final look with just a little vintage pop (and it certainly helps that Kat always looks completely lovely).
Check out more photos from the shoot on Kat’s blog.

Kat Cooper and I got together again in late June during Lansing’s Monday night Happy Hour Club to shoot a quick fashion session for her blog, Ginger and the Geek. The weekly get together was at Lansing’s Waterfront Bar and Grill in the City Market, and the river walk, along with perfect evening light, made for some fun fashion photos. To see more photos from this session—and to keep up on fashion and local Lansing happenings—check out Kat’s blog.

When Jeff and I made the decision to move from Chicago to East Lansing earlier this year, one of the things I was most excited about was getting back to nature—and boy, does Michigan have some beautiful natural settings! When Kat Cooper and I connected about doing a fashion shoot for her blog, Ginger and the Geek, I couldn’t wait to scout out some cool locations on Michigan State’s campus. I loved it so much that I headed back that way for a senior session the next day (you’ll see that one tomorrow). And to add icing to the cake, I’ll be back on Michigan State’s beautiful campus this weekend to shoot a wedding. Can’t wait!
