Learn more about wedding photography
“For our wedding, we wanted something a little different than a traditional banquet hall. Going off our love of all things craft beer, we visited the Frankenmuth Brewery and fell in love. We tried to carry the beer theme into our wedding, with homemade hops boutonnieres, beer bottle vases, and brewery themed place cards.” – Dana
I remember so distinctly the day that I woke up on Dana and Dan’s wedding day. I was heading into a double wedding weekend, which is not uncommon in June, and when I woke up, my eye felt…funny. My youngest had just had pink eye one week earlier, so I did what anyone would do in this situation and hopped onto a photographer Facebook group to ask, “What do I do?!” Luckily, I was convinced to make a quick trip to the doctor—they got me in right away when I told them that I thought I had pink eye and I was heading to photograph a wedding later that day—and they got me on eye drops right away.
On the not quite as lucky side, the doctor told me to throw away all of my makeup and avoid wearing any new makeup all weekend, so I set out with a bloodshot eye and no makeup feeling a bit freaky when I arrived to Dana and Dan’s wedding.
Luckily, these two are super sweet, and if my red eye threw them off, they never showed it 🙂 I always say that the weird quirky events of a day hardly end up mattering when you look back, and it’s true. I’ll always remember this day with so much joy.
You’ll see a little bit of film mixed into Dana and Dan’s portraits—see if you can pick them out from the digital shots.
