I’ve been photographing Paula’s family for years, so when she asked if I could fit her in for last minute branding headshot studio photos for her to use for an upcoming magazine featured about her business, Karmascore, I was excited to make it happen.
I get requests for one-off headshots all the time, and I’m considering setting up headshot events in the future – because it’s honestly getting to be too much work to set everything up for individual photos (let me know if you’d be interested if I ever make this happen!). In the meantime, mini branding photo sessions have been popular for small business owners to showcase their unique personalities for features, social media, and their websites.
Branding headshots go beyond the traditional headshot on a gray or black backdrop – I send out a Story Session Questionnaire to each branding client to get to know who they are trying to reach and help them to figure out how best to connect with their ideal audiences. From there, I typically send over a few session design/location ideas and outfit color schemes. Most find that they can get exactly what they need during a quick 30 minute mini session. Others book the larger Story Session (3-4 hours), which can be broken out into up to three sessions to give you new quarterly content for social media.
If you’re looking for a personal touch to your personal brand, I’d love to hear from you.
