It’s not every day that I get to take Michigan State graduation pictures for a married couple, but this power couple recently graduated with a combination of Masters and Law school degrees, and they celebrated the accomplishments with a grad photo session on MSU’s north campus. We started at Beaumont – a must have classic landmark – then we made our way around north campus to get a mix of architecture and that springtime campus vibe.

After a year of various levels of quarantine over the past year, it’s been so nice to get out and celebrate all of these grad’s accomplishments.

Graduation photos can be scheduled year round (I highly recommend scheduling them in the off season to avoid large crowds). If you’d like a grad session of your own, you can schedule it here.

Caroline is from Singapore, so it was my honor to get to take her Michigan State senior graduation pictures to share with her family since they couldn’t be there for her graduation. Every time I take MSU grad photos, I recommend getting a mix of traditional senior graduation photos with cap and gown and some with a simple dress (typically white or green in the fashion of MSU). The photos without cap and gown offer you more timeless photos of yourself that you can use for years to come (think profile photos, LinkedIn headshots, etc.).

Think of the cap and gown photos as the photos to be framed to commemorate the moment, and the photos without cap and gown are there to keep handy when you need a great photo of yourself.

While Michigan State senior grad photography is the most popular during the two weeks leading up to and the week after graduation, I highly recommend taking them a little later in the year to avoid the crowds (up to 45 minutes at each landmark location). And for those graduating in the winter, fall graduation photos on MSU’s campus are always gorgeous.
